Meet Our Board
William Buster
William Buster is a philanthropic strategist who believes in the placed-based focus of philanthropy which leads to thriving communities. He has led the building of strategies and the operational infrastructure of several new philanthropies and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Buster also has expertise in supporting health equity and economic, youth, and rural development strategies within the field of philanthropy. He currently serves as the Lead Consultant for Common-Unity Advisors, LLC. Mr. Buster began his philanthropic career as a Program Officer for the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation 24 years ago. Since then, he has served in various leadership roles during his career in philanthropy. He served as the founding CEO & President of New Hanover Community Endowment, the Senior Vice President of Impact for Dogwood Health Trust, Executive Vice President of Community Investments at St. David’s Foundation, and Director of Mississippi and New Orleans Programs and Advisor to the President on Men and Boys of Color for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Mr. Buster earned a Master of Arts in Policy and Practice of Development from the University of New Hampshire and is a proud alumnus of North Carolina A&T State University.
Toya Randall
Toya Randall is Senior Director of Community Initiatives in the office of the CEO at Casey Family Programs where she is responsible for a national portfolio of racial equity and multi-sector alignment initiatives focused on community health and safety, school justice reform, child well-being, and family strengthening. She is also the Catalyst & Curator of Voice. Vision. Value. Black Women Leading Philanthropy, a multimedia narrative platform that elevates and celebrates the historic leadership impact of Black women in professional philanthropy. Moreover, Toya Co-Chairs the Greater New Orleans Funders Network Board of Directors, serves on the Executive Committee of Communities for Just Schools Fund, and is a Board Trustee for The Giving Square in addition to Nafasi Fund. She is one of the founders of the Black Women in Philanthropy Leadership Retreat and an inaugural fellow for both the ABFE Connecting Leaders Fellowship and the Funders Network for Smart Growth P.L.A.C.E.S. Fellowship.
Dr. Rhonda Tsoi‑A‑Fatt
Dr. Rhonda Tsoi‑A‑Fatt is President/CEO of The Moriah Group, an international consulting firm, based in Huntsville, AL and Executive Director of its signature initiative Forward Promise. Dr. Tsoi-A-Fatt has over 20 years of program development and public policy advocacy experience focused on the issues children of color face from birth to young adulthood. Her expertise has been integral to advancing the national work on BMOC through Forward Promise and other initiatives. Rhonda holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Services, a master’s degree in Urban Affairs & Public Policy, and a doctorate in Education Leadership.
